HIGHLAND – The Region Sports Network is proud to announce a partnership with Dutch Farms that will recognize the “Athletes of the Week” during the winter sports season of 2018-19. Over the next four months, the top weekly high school athletic performances in boys and girls basketball, wrestling, swimming and diving will be honored by Dutch Farms and the Region Sports Network on Regionsports.com and on various social media outlets.
Joel Boomsma, the Vice President of Sales for Dutch Farms, said the company is excited to begin this joint venture. “We know that sports help develop important social skills and leadership qualities in the athletes that play them, as well as bring together families and communities. With such a deep rooted history in Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland we are thrilled to partner with The Region Sports Network to recognize those who excel in their sport.”
The team at Region Sports is just as excited. “Partnering with a company such as Dutch Farms to highlight the Athletes of the Week is a perfect match,” said Region Sports president Chris Ramirez. “Dutch Farms is a fourth generation family owned company that has strong connections to Northwest Indiana, so they know how much high school sports, and the student-athletes who play them, mean to our communities.”
The Athletes of the Week, presented by Dutch Farms, will be selected by the Region Sports Network staff based on statistical accomplishments, as well as other factors including highlight moments and performing in clutch situations. Fans and coaches are encouraged to nominate student-athletes from their community beginning this week.
