1890 – Navy beats Army 24-0 in the first football matchup in the historic series.

 1934 – The Detroit Lions play in the first Thanksgiving football game in franchise history, losing to the Bears 19-16. It is the first nationally broadcast football game.

1976 – The Yankees sign free agent slugger Reggie Jackson to a five year contract.

1995 – St. Louis Blues goalie Grant Fuhr becomes the 11th goalie in NHL history to win 300 career games.

1997 – The Griffith Panthers win the 4A football state title, beating Hamilton Southeastern 49-7.

1998 – Dan Marino becomes the first player in NFL history to throw for 400 career touchdown passes.

2003 – At 18 years old, LeBron James becomes the youngest player in NBA history to score 30 points in a game.

2013 – The Andrean 59ers win the football state championship with a 35-28 win over Brebeuf Jesuit.

2019 – Valpo falls in the football state championship game, losing to New Palestine 27-20.
