1980 – Rick Barry of the Houston Rockets is the first player in NBA history to hit eight three-pointers in one game.
1991 – Sugar Ray Leonard competes in his final career boxing match, losing to Terry Norris in 12 rounds.
2018 – The 23rd Olympic Winter Games open in South Korea.
