Press Release is from Griffith High School

Griffith High School announces the hiring of former Munster assistant boys’ soccer coach, Roman Garcia to take over the program after David Lopez resigned due to job responsibilities.
Garcia, 23 is a graduate of Munster High School where he played and eventually coached, for the well-respected Jim Prasopoulos. Following high school, he attended and played at Manchester University before finishing his
degree at Indiana University.
Garcia, who is a personal trainer, has also spent some time on the staff with the South Suburban Soccer Academy.
“We are excited to have Coach Garcia join our family,” says Athletic Director, Kelly Greer. “He has learned from one of the best around in Coach Prasopoulos, and we look forward to him building on the momentum we
had last year.”
Last season the club finished 5-8-1 and 2-2 in the GSSC before losing to Bishop Noll in the Sectionals and returns a large portion of the roster from last year.
“Consistency and effort will be the foundation of this program. Over time, we hope that mindset inspires the next generation of Griffith athletes to join us, creating a stronger and more competitive program year after year,” says Garcia.
