1928 –The Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins 1-0 in the first sporting event held in the legendary Boston Gardens.

1934 – Harvey Jackson of the Toronto Maple Leafs becomes the first player in NHL history to score four goals in a single period.

1977 – Seahawks wide receiver Steve Largent sets an NFL record with a reception in 177 consecutive games.

1982 – Known as “The Play”, Cal beats Stanford 25-20 on a kickoff return that featured five laterals and Kevin Moen running through the Stanford band, which ran onto the field too early, into the end zone.

1987 – The Highland Trojans football team punches their ticket to Indianapolis, defeating Carmel 30-28 to advance to state.

1997 – AC Green of the Mavericks sets an NBA record by playing in his 907th career game.
