1951 – Yankees catcher Yogi Berra wins the first of his three career MVP awards.

1966 – Orioles outfielder Frank Robinson wins the AL MVP award, making him the first player in MLB history to win both the AL and NL MVPs in his career.

1966 – President Lyndon Johnson signs anti-trust immunity to the AFL-NFL merger.

1968 – The Andrean 59ers football team completes an undefeated season with a 7-6 win over Hobart.

1970 – Saints kicker Tom Dempsey sets an NFL record by making a 63 yard field goal.
