1945 – The EC Roosevelt Rough Riders win the mythical football state championship after beating SB Central 23-0.

1957 – The University of Oklahoma football team’s record 47 game winning streak comes to an end with a 7-0 loss to Notre Dame.

1969 – Richard Nixon becomes the first sitting US President to attend an NFL game, as he watches the Cowboys beat the Redskins 41-28.

1982 – The NFL Management Council and the NFL Player’s Association reach a settlement, ending a 57 day strike.
