FOOTBALL: Hobart 2023 Team Preview

OUTLOOK: An “average” season in the minds of the Hobart faithful may be a program-changing year for another school. Standards are always high for the Brickies, as they finished 2022 with their second straight 8-win season. They did split the conference title between Andrean and Lowell, but once again came up short in the Sectional Championship with a loss to New Prarie.

The Brickies graduate a bit of talent on the offensive side, as they hope to replace 2,245 yards of total offense from North All-Star and Marian commit, Trey Gibson. Hobart also found itself on both the good and the bad of the recent transfer market. 

After the talented dual-threat signal caller Noah Ehrlich left for Crown Point, Hobart would soon find a potential replacement in former Lake Central Indian, Jonny Sorenson. In addition the new signal caller, the Brickies landed a true aerial threat in former Calumet Warrior, Terrell Caldwell. 

With how uncertain the top of the NCC may shape out, Hobart looks to be one of the early-season favorites to have a third straight year with a share of the NCC crown.
